Airgurus Acquires ParaPAC Plus 310

ParaPAC Plus 310 is the latest addition to the Pneupac range by Smiths Medical which are all designed for paramedics and trained emergency personnel's use to enable great control of breathing parameters for our patients. This equipment gives the versatility to deliver oxygen therapy, CPAP (Constant Positive Airway Pressure), demand oxygen and mechanical ventilation all from one compact, lightweight unit.

Among its' main features is a built-in oxygen therapy facility, an integrated PEEP (positive end-expiratory pressure) function, luminescent manometer, a display of inspiratory and expiratory pressure and manual ventilation control for compliance with CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) ratios and CPAP which has a setting of 0.5 liters per minute of oxygen all the way up to 35 liters per minute.  This latest acquisition by Airgurus is designed for the most demanding environments... emergency, ambulance, aircraft, hospital and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).

Medevac Peak Season Starts Summer in The Philippines

Summer starts in March and is usually the beginning of Airgurus' peak season when it comes to Medevac operations in the Philippines. It doesn't end when summer ends though... Medevac peak season for us lasts  till the end of the year.

2013 Goals: Additional Aircraft For Air Ambulance

The term "Air Ambulance" (a specially outfitted aircraft that transport the sick or injured in a medical emergency or over distances or terrain impractical for a conventional ground ambulance) used to be unknown in the Philippines.

Via Airgurus, we have earned our mark in the nation. After 2012, we can firmly say that the terms "air ambulance, medevac|medivac" (emergency evacuation of the sick or wounded) are no longer strange words and along with our efforts to make them known, Airgurus has become synonymous to those terms.

Exciting & Challenging 3rd Quarter 2012

Airgurus' 3rd quarter of 2012 was fun-filled... starting off with the arrival of "Hawkeye"... our pet name for our recently acquired chopper, Bell 206 BIII Jet Ranger. The rest of the period was filled with a lot of helicopter tours, corporate / VIP charters and medical evacuations (MEDEVAC) all over the country.

We also faced some great challenges during the month of August as Philippines was hit by a strong typhoon. Our Helicopter Search and Rescue (SAR) team was busy doing private emergency evacuation services in Bulacan, Bataan and other parts of Northern Luzon as calls from abroad poured in. OFWs concerned for their families in various provinces in the North hired us to either evacuate their loved ones at the height of the storm and placed them in safe places or deliver food, clothing, medicines to badly hit areas.

All went well during the stormy months and we had fun times with some famous celebrities in the country too like Tim Yap and Elmo Magalona through Oishi's O Wow promotion and Fabio Ide taking his parents out for a private helicopter treat to Tagaytay.

Helicopter Search and Rescue (SAR) During Typhoons

Saving lives in the Philippines is our primary mission. With the recent non-stop torrential rains that hit Metro Manila and Luzon, we have achieved our 911th.

Last August 7, 2012 the flood situation in the Philippines got worse and we have been receiving a lot of calls from people offshore seeking for our Helicopter Search and Rescue (SAR) services. Worried family members abroad wanted their loved ones who were trapped in rooftops on various locations in Luzon be rescued.

Since August 7 to 8, 2012 we have done so much... providing the ideal too to alleviate difficulties by providing emergency evacuation, medical assistance, fodder drops for isolated livestock, aerial mapping of flood victims / survivors and delivered food / medical supplies. It was during this period we achieved our 911th rescue mission. We wish we can publish photos of our rescue missions however, the clients who contracted us, specifically asked us to omit that part.

Last August 9, despite the weather, we have provided medical evacuation to a sailor aboard a vessel channeling the Mindanao areas... and transported him to the apt facility in Cebu.

Floods cause by typhoon in the Philippines are always a great problem. Many people also called us if we can do it for free however, since we are a private company, we declined to a lot which saddens us. We only do helicopter Search and Rescue (SAR) missions and medical evacuations (MEDEVAC) when we are contracted to do so. Each SAR and Medevac missions are dangerous during bad weather conditions.... often risking the lives of our captain and crew members.

Capt. Harry Lero on our 858th Medical Evacuation Mission

Last week was our CEO | Chief Pilot's birthday. Instead of us celebrating his birthday the night before, Captain Harry Lero and our medical flight crew had to get some good rest since they were scheduled to fly to San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. The mission... to immediately transport a critically injured motorcycle accident victim to an apt facility in Manila via one of our air ambulance helicopters.

When it comes to saving one's life, Captain Lero puts himself first on the line thus; making the preparation to celebrate his own birthday on the same day becomes impossible for us at Airgurus.We all celebrated it with him the next day. Other special occasions like Valentines, Christmas and New Years with him is also quite impossible as he always has to do his missions. We can't complain... as Airgurus Ltd. The mission to transport the motorcycle accident victim from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental marked his 858th medical evacuation flight in the Philippines. Yes... our 858th successful mission.

Capt. Harry Lero: Air Ambulance Helicopter Pilot

Air Ambulance helicopter pilots like Capt. Harry Lero, chief pilot and President of Airgurus Ltd. Co., keep in mind that they must be at all times, quick and ready with his medevac crew.

Within 15 minutes of receiving an urgent medical evacuation call, Capt. Lero and his crew must be able to "wheel up". PHILIPPINES AIR AMBULANCE: AIRGURUS CASE # 822 APPENDICITIS

Classified as an medical emergency requiring an Air Ambulance, Appendicitis is a condition characterized by the inflammation of the appendix that in most cases, requiring the removal of the inflamed appendix either by laparatomy or laparoscopy.

If appendicitis is untreated, mortality is high mainly because of the risk of rupture leading to peritonitis and shock.

As of writing (2:51pm of August 9, 2011), the Air Ambulance Helicopter # 1 is passing through waters nearby Mindoro Island estimated to arrive Boracay Island by 4pm after a short refuel stop at Caticlan.

The patient's attending physician in Boracay Island contacted Airgurus for his immediate medical transfer to St. Lukes' Global City, Taguig to be endorsed to a specialist, Dr. Dela Pena at an expected time of 6pm.
